Slotting your Axle

Ok, so it takes me a bit to figure it out!! Hopefully this will help someone else!

First two tries was with a Dremel and a cutoff wheel (first race), last try was with a Drill Press, Cutoff Wheel and a Vise Clamp!

Note: Slotting your axle is to tighten up your wheels, if they are loose then screw them in till they are tight then backoff about 1/2 turn! (sounds like jets on a carb)

you know i have read this forum few times and i missed that thread..wasted money on dremel discs..ruined few axles..oh well live and learn..i just ground down hac saw blade made this jig now i am grooving like a pro

I believe what John was referring to was when you cut the KHouse groove
 
I free hand cut my BSA axles as of right now.... Still have all my fingers... /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif....I use a Dremel and the small thin cut off wheel, maybe not the best way but they have come out ok so far.... I used several of the Pine Car/BSA axle I bought with bodies to practice on and have lost a couple due to improper alignment from being so blind.... Now I use this light with a magnifying lens and WOW can I see my marks well....
