What kind of prep do you use on your halo to get it to shine so good?
The ignorance of a grown man fawning over other grown men who race little wooden cars is all that was required on this day.

All I know is after I put TxW weight in my car, it went past the stop section all the time so I added this.
Sorry guys! I'll ask a less interesting question next time.

Yes very good... I have these rules as well. 2016 and 2017 are almost virtually identical. If you have the 2016 rules then you will know that Pro Stock absolutely allowed aftermarket axles, but you want someone to provide them?
To quote from the rules of that year:
"Axles:
Nail type axles are to be used. You may or may not choose to use those found in the Official Pinewood Derby kit."
Vs. the Stock rules:
" BSA axles may be polished, deburred and lubricated but must be left otherwise untouched – period."
Is this a test John? Sometimes I'm a little slow with the punchline. So just in case I drill them canted. So, is it better to drill canted rears or bend the axles?
You are cool Reggie!
You can have your opinion, but IMO it's incorrect. It's practically spelled out for you. The Stock rules say "BSA axles". Pro Stock says "You may or may NOT choose to use the BSA axles". There is literally no way you can interpret that as anything other than "you can use any axles you want as long as they are nail-type". If you CHOOSE to NOT use the BSA axles, what the heck else is there? Aftermarket, a.k.a, "Vendor". Unless you happen to have a lathe and made your own, and that's the exact same thing.Yes very good... I have these rules as well. 2016 and 2017 are almost virtually identical.
Ok, I believe that’s being quite manipulative of the phrase but you got me there. You may or may not choose to use those found in the official kit is meant to give flexibility in allowing better (BSA) parts, not vendor parts! If you read the rules at the very beginning it also says all cars... this applies to stock and pro stock shall be built with parts from an official Pwd kit.
So answere one question for me... Why are race inspectors putting magnets to our axles if aftermarket parts are allowed? Why last year was there a rule to have a window to allow for viewing the axle tips and if you didn’t have a window you had to pull your axles for them to inspect?
I guess we should just agree to disagree on these rules. I’m not trying to pick a beef with anyone, but rather stating my opinion here..
Reggie, no need to apologize on your end. You asked an honest question.
However, next time you have one of these questions ...I would appreciate a heads up ....I want time to get the popcorn ready!![]()
